The Hennessey water department was out in full force, working in a muddy mess to make emergency repairs to a 6 inch water main. A tee had broken in the line, causing a large volume of water to run freely.
Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman said they were unable to maintain
a level in the water tower, no matter how much they pumped, so the repairs had to be made immediately.
The leak was located at the intersection of Cemetery and 4th street on the west side of town. They worked as fast as they could to restore water as soon as possible. Water was turned back on shortly after 9:00pm.
