HHS LEADERSHIP CLASS GOES TO COURT

On Jan 10th, 29 seniors from HHS went to the Kingfisher County Court for a field trip. This trip was made possible by Hennessey United under the direction of Cathy Howard. Before the courthouse, the students were treated to breakfast at the Kingfisher McDonald’s.

At the courthouse, they listened to two officials talk about their careers with the county. Ray Shimanek, County Commissioner, and Dennis Banther, Sheriff. Associate District Judge, Lance Schneiter, took the students through a mock trial and explained the inner workings of the law. All in all, the student had an educational journey. These students are members of Mrs. Parrish’s Leadership class. Story by Marie Parrish, photos by Cathy Howard.
