FIREFIGHTERS VISIT SCHOOL

The Hennessey Firefighters spent Friday morning (October 20th) at Hennessey Elementary School teaching fire safety. Fire Chief Brandon Scott and several firefighters demonstrated Stop, Drop, and Roll, what to do when the smoke alarm goes off. The Chief led the children in an interactive demonstration teaching them to test the door knob for heat before opening it.  Then the next option was to exit out a window and meet their family at their planned gathering place then call 911.

The children were excited to see the fire dog, (Tyson Copland) as he interacted with them giving high-fives.  The highlight of the day was when all of the classes got to check out the firetrucks, hold the firehose, and spray water. October is National Fire Prevention Month. Photos by Jack Quirk
