The Hennessey Eagles faced off on Friday against the OBA Trojans. It also happened to be homecoming! The coronation kicked off the night at 6:00, followed by the boys game and the girls.
The #3 ranked boys led by the Hoco King, Layton Choate, started off slow, once again. A 7 point 1st quarter with no real highlights to show. The scoring kicked off for the eagles in the 2nd quarter though, scoring 19 points led by the hoco king. Layton finished with his first double double of his career and his best night of the season, with an impressive, 18 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals. The hot streak continued with a very strong 3rd quarter for the Eagles, led by Jael Torres who had a respectable 10 points and 5 boards. The 4th quarter turned out to be just a solid close, Garett Vinson hit back to back 3’s and ended with 9 points going 3 for 3 from downtown. Final score Hennessey Eagles 57 – OBA Trojans 43

LADY EAGLES VS TROJANS
The Friday night game flipped the schedule with the girls playing after the boys because of homecoming.
The Lady Eagles faced off against the Lady Trojans who are coming off a 2nd place finish in the 3 rivers tournament. In one of the more uneventful games of the season so far, the ladies trailed from beginning to end with a few flairs to light the Trojans offense into a short fire, pulling away each time. The Eagles got a good game out of the Hoco Queen, Noelle Pollard, she finished with 10 points and knocked down a pair of 3s. The sophomore star Katie Kennedy didn’t have her best game but still managed to lead the Eagles in points with 11. The final score: Hennessey Lady Eagles 35 – OBA Lady Trojans 59.
The team’s head to Okarche in what will be a tough team for both the boys and girls next Tuesday. That game will be broadcasted live on hennesseyeagles.tv!
