Two Hennessey sisters brought home awards for their first try at the Kingfisher County Free Fair. Hannah Weaver, age 7, entered a 7-layer s’more cake with homemade chocolate ganache and marshmallow fluff filling. She toasted her graham cracker crumbles with salt and butter. Her cake won Champion in her division. Hannah also won third place for her bug collection.
Henley Weaver, 4, entered an Oklahoma wildflower shadow box. Her family had planted a quarter-acre wildflower patch, and she cut, dried, and pressed partridge pea, Cornflowers, and Indian blankets. She won first place for her fair craft. The sisters are the daughters of Jacob and Katelyn Weaver of Hennessey. Photos provided.
