The Hennessey school board voted to approve changes to the High School handbook that included some changes to the dress code as well as cell phone use in classrooms. Tina Gilliland, a parent, addressed the need for some students to have a cell phone in the classroom for medical issues. Gilliland told the board that diabetic students use their phones to monitor their levels. High School Principal Joshua Faulkner told the board each student will have their phone during class changes but will be required to put it in a designated place in each classroom when they enter. He mentioned that this would be enforced High School wide. The only exceptions will be for medical reasons.
