BAND DIRECTOR RESIGNS

Adam Ray arrived in Hennessey in October 2019, when the band program was at an all-time low. Ray has built up this music department to an award-winning group of musicians. Ray’s first teaching job brought creativity, started a jazz band, brought in new instruments like electric guitars, and created some fun musical programs. Reluctantly, The Hennessey Board of Education accepted Ray’s resignation at their regular meeting on Monday night.

Ray said, “It’s been amazing to watch these student leaders respond to the challenges I’ve put before them. They’ve grown the Pride of Hennessey to four times the size it was when I started here three years ago. I will miss all of my students dearly, but I know that with the self-confidence they’ve learned in band and music classes, they can truly do anything they put their mind and effort to!”
