A 6 am lightning strike sparked a fire that destroyed a detached garage at 723 S Cheyenne in Hennessey this morning. (Sunday, August 1) The residents of the house, Kelly Choate and Laura Calvert were awakened by a Hennessey Police officer telling them to get out. Choate and Calvert got to safety and were not injured. The garage was the storage building for the 132 Bible Church food pantry goods. The garage and food pantry contents were a total loss.
