Hennessey wheat harvest 2021 took off today with a few farmers getting out early. The Fuksa’s, 3 north and ½ west, were cutting this afternoon (Thursday, June 10th). David was running the combine and his dad Leroy was supervising. Leroy said, “It got hot fast today, and the wind came up dropping the humidity.” David said, “It’s doing well, about 63 bushels per acre and about 12.9% moisture.” Others in the Hennessey area are ready to go but are waiting on the fields to dry out after the recent heavy rain.
