EMERGENCY TOWN MEETING – KEEP WATER RUNNING

The Hennessey Board of Trustees called an emergency meeting today at 1pm to encourage residents of Hennessey to keep a steady stream of water running in their faucets. This meeting was to allow adjustments to water bills to reflect normal usage for the month of March 1st billing cycle. Hennessey Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman said, “We need to keep the water moving. We have had several water meters freeze on our side of the meter.” Over the next few days it is very important to keep a trickle of water moving especially the hot water during these frigid temperatures. Hot water pipes will freeze in half the time of cold. If you have pipes on an outside wall open the cabinet doors to let heat in. Keep the doors open to your bathrooms to keep the heat in areas where there are pipes that could freeze.
