BLIZZARD LIKE CONDITIONS

Strong winds, record cold temps, and heavy snow today made things miserable for most of Oklahoma. (Sunday, February 14, 2021) The first round of snow came in overnight dropping about 4 inches. Around noon the second round of heavy snow arrived in Hennessey dropping another 6 to 8 inches. 20 plus mph wind and 6 degree temps drove the wind chill into negative numbers. The driving wind piled up the snow creating large drifts on the roadways and around buildings. ODOT plow trucks arrived in town about 2 pm and cleared most of Main St but the intersections and town roads were untouched. The snow ended in the Hennessey area about 3pm. The next storm is predicted to arrive on Tuesday, bringing additional snow to our area.
