SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE AT HENNESSEY SCHOOLS
Hennessey High school and Elementary school have suffered significant water damage. Overnight pipes burst in the ceiling of the east wing of the high school causing significant water damage to many of the rooms. Water was running out into the parking lot creating a large area of ice. All of the rooms in the east and north wing of the high school have several inches of standing water and the ceilings are down in several of the north rooms.
The elementary school also had standing water in all of the north and some of the south rooms but there was no ceiling damage. Dr. Woods sent an email to all of the school staff and teachers advising them to stay out of the buildings until further notice. There are many hazards such as falling ceiling tiles, electrical cords standing in water and slip hazards. Dr Woods said in his email, “As it looks right now we will be full time virtual for the remainder of the week.” Watch for the Hennessey School update video on Wednesday evening for a complete report and timeline when school can reopen.
