The annual FFA calf fry and labor auction drew a smaller crowd than normal this year. This is the biggest fundraiser for the group followed by the Blue and Gold Sausage and shop project sales. Jorge Huizar, Hennessey’s FFA instructor said, “The lack of attendance did hurt the fundraiser. Seats were filled, but we probably had half of the attendance we normally have. We were also short on kids participating this year. But, the 14 kids that did participate, averaged $380. Which is still pretty good.” Huizar stated, “Overall; even though money raised decreased from previous years, we all feel very fortunate and appreciative for all of the community support, and to have been able to pull this event together; given the circumstances.” Representative Mike Dobrinski, Senator Chuck Hall and Senator Casey Murdock were in attendance.
