The Hennessey water department completed replacing a leaking fire hydrant this afternoon at the corner of E. Nebraska and N. Cimarron St. The plan was to wait until school got out, then make the repair as quickly as they could and return the water service. The crew also installed a valve that would allow them to service the hydrant in the future without shutting down the entire system. Recently, anytime they have to make a repair to a line they are installing valves to help isolate areas of town helping to reduce outages during major repairs.
