END OF THE 130 YEAR OLD HENNESSEY CLIPPER.
The Hennessey Clipper announced in an email to the Town Hall today that it was transitioning the paper to a bi-monthly publication that will focus on government, public policy, judicial issues, and economic issues that affect western Oklahoma and will cover a multi-county region in western Oklahoma, versus just Hennessey. Because it will no longer be a weekly publication, they will no longer be able to publish legals or obituaries under
The Hennessey Clipper was established June 13th, 1889 and was purchased by the Walter family in 1904. Bill and Barb Walter operated the paper until it was sold in January 2014. The paper was published weekly by The Trail Miller Company based in Seiling, Oklahoma up to today’s announcement. Trail Miller owns several papers including the Hennessey Clipper, The Okeene Record, The Canton Times, and The Dewey County Record according to the Oklahoma Press Association Facebook page.
All About Hennessey called the Clipper office for information about people that have paid subscriptions to the paper but there was no answer.
