Summary

The Bookkeeper/Office Manager carries out administrative tasks to ensure the office runs smoothly on a daily basis. Their tasks include doing basic bookkeeping, payroll, administrative and financial activities.

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations Division. We are looking for a Location Manager (Agronomy including Anhydrous ammonia, Chemical, Grain and some retail) to establish operating policies consistent with the General Manager’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, possess strong relationship building skills, and have the ability to bring cross-functional teams together. 

You will:
Act as the liaison between the General Manager and department managers, developing and implementing procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization. 
Provide work direction to the (Agronomy including Anhydrous ammonia, Chemical, Grain and some retail) to and Operations departments. 
Manage the elevator operations according to divisional objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a maximum margin of profit. 
Manage the elevator workforce through responsible training, clear job assignment definition and explanation, correct deficient performance, and effectively reward and develop all employees. 
Evaluate and make recommendations to improve existing programs of elevator housekeeping, safety and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and limit safety hazards. Maintain all related record keeping logs. 
Evaluate the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the General Manager. 
Maintain record keeping logs on all elevator equipment including legs, conveyors, grain cleaner, vehicles and all facility equipment. 
Oversee, monitor, and enforce all company policies and procedures. 
Oversee the accurate weighing, grading, binning, dumping and pricing of incoming grain. 
Oversee the blending, unloading, and loud-out of trucks and rail cars. Complete the required documentation. 
Monitor stored grain condition and maintain quality of inventory. 
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or needed. 
Basic Qualifications: (required) 
Bachelor’s degree in an Agriculture related program (additional years of experience may offset education requirement) 
5 plus years of production agriculture and Coop management experience 
Supervisory experience 
Ability to lift 75 lbs, climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins 
Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile 
Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures 
Preferred Qualifications: (desired) 
Grain Merchandiser or Agronomy Sales experience

Duties

The Bookkeeper/Office Manager’s tasks include supervising all office needs, and serving as a front line for visitors and phone calls;reordering department supplies; and updating mail and phone directories. They are also in charge of managing calendars and scheduling appointments, screening incoming calls and emails, responding independently when possible; and making logistical arrangements for meetings. They also manage an efficient message system; prepare correspondences; manage finances, including payroll, accounts receivable and payables; and keep track of invoices and make sure there are no duplicate charges.

Education and Training Requirements

High school diploma and equivalent training.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Proficient in the use of computers and related software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and accounting software. Experience in Peachtree preferred. Must be extremely organized,detail-oriented, efficient, and highly analytical, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge in billing, human resource systems, and bookkeeping principles are also necessary.

Working Conditions

Typical office hours from Monday to Friday, 32 to 40 hours per week.The job requires frequent use of the computer and telephone in a clean,well-lit environment.
