THIS WEEK ALL ABOUT HENNESSEY RECOGNIZES TAMMY DOBBS OF GAIL’S GRILL, AS OUR WOMEN IN BUSINESS.
Gail’s Grill started by Gail Hardin some 40 years ago is legendary in Hennessey. A few years ago Tammy Dobbs took over the grill from the second owner, Sandra Hardin, and keeping with tradition has taken what Gail started, and added her own flair with some menu additions and specials. One of Tammy’s biggest changes was to stay open all summer. With only 14 seats, you may have to hang out a minute but you will always meet up with a friend or two while there. Swing by and try out a Gail’s Special or the world famous deluxe cheeseburger! Open daily 10:30 – 2:30, 5 days a week. 210 S. Main St. 405-853-9947. Each week we recognize a woman in business that is a sponsor of All About Hennessey.

NEW AMBULANCE
The Hennessey Town Trustees approved the purchase of a new ambulance during a special meeting last week. This will replace the current 10 year old ambulance that has 134,000 miles. The Hennessey ambulance service is operated under contract by LIFE EMS out of Enid. The vehicles belong to The Town of Hennessey, but are serviced and maintained by LIFE EMS. Photo is an example, not the actual ambulance.

GO TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO… …
GO TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO…
Hennessey Police Department just completed the renovation of their jail and Assistant Chief, Ed Cangiano and Lieutenant, Mike Jones gave us a tour. The jail was originally built in 1963. They quit using it in the late 70s or early 80s. Since then it was used for storage until recently, when they started the remodel. Police Chief, Hank Weber said “It costs the town about $60 per day to keep someone in the Kingfisher County jail. We can do it here for about $10. Making it a significant savings, not to mention the travel time.” The remodeled jail area includes 3 cells with beds and bathrooms, shower, and booking room. Each cell has been outfitted with new locks and cameras.
