4pm, Horseshoe tournament wrapping up
5pm, Fireworks wired-up and ready to go

FIREWORKS HELP WANTED!
This year’s Hennessey Fireworks display will be bigger than ever! Bryan Burch, Logan Macy and their team will be setting up tomorrow morning (Thursday, the 4th) and needs help wiring the 1000 shells that will be shot off during the display. If you are 18 or older and want to help come by the field east of the football field after 7am. Absolutely no cell phones will be allowed near the staging while working on the display. ROLLOVER WRECK EAST OF HENNESSEY …

ROLLOVER WRECK EAST OF HENNESSEY
A late model Toyota Tacoma pickup traveling east on Hwy 51, about 7pm this evening, went left of center and rolled several times. The pickup rested on the north side of the fence heading the other direction, 6.5 miles east of Hennessey. The unidentified male driver was out of the pickup and walking around when EMS arrived. Life EMS transported the driver to an Enid hospital. The wreck is currently under investigation by the OHP. We will update this post when more details become available.

MOSQUITOES BEWARE

MOSQUITOES BEWARE!
Hennessey residents are hoping for a bug free 4th of July for the festivities at Bullfoot Park and the fireworks at the football field.

Curtis Turner, Hennessey public works director, said “We will be spraying for mosquitoes, if it is not too windy in town, at the park and football practice field on Wednesday night.” With all the rain this year the mosquito population is at an all-time high in the Hennessey area.
