Cars, Christmas spirit and a chance to help local families will come together Sunday, November 8, when the Kringle Cruise Car Show and Toy Drive rolls into Hennessey.
The event will take place along Main Street and at the community pavilion behind Sparky’s Eatery. Cruise participants are expected to arrive around 12:30 p.m., bringing vehicles of all types for an afternoon benefiting Reserve Angels, a volunteer group that helps families provide Christmas gifts.
Two cruise groups will travel to Hennessey. The Edmond and Arcadia group will gather at Pops, 660 OK-66 in Arcadia, beginning around 9:30 a.m., with departure planned for 10:30 a.m. The Tulsa and Sand Springs group will meet at Olive Garden, 440 S. State Highway 97 in Sand Springs. Both groups plan to merge into one procession as they enter Hennessey on Highway 51.
Admission is free. Participants entering the car show or burnout contest are asked to bring a toy or make a small monetary donation to Reserve Angels.
Children will take the lead in judging the car show, choosing their favorite vehicles beginning around 1:30 p.m. Prizes are planned for the winners, with possible awards including plaques or crowd-favorite recognition.
A burnout contest is also expected to begin around 1:30 p.m. at the pad by the The John Deutschendorf Memorial Pavilion and continue until the final contestant finishes. Prizes will be awarded.
Sparky’s Eatery will support the fundraiser by donating 10% of its sales that day to Reserve Angels, giving visitors another way to contribute while enjoying a meal.
The event will give car enthusiasts, families and community members an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon together while helping make Christmas brighter for local children.
