Firefighters from several counties worked together to battle a large brush fire near the Cimarron River in far western Kingfisher County.
The fire was first reported at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, near the intersection of N2710 Road and Highway 51. The fire was contained to the north side of the highway along the Cimarron River by 11pm.
Fire departments responding included Loyal, Hennessey, Ames, Dover, Drummond and Pioneer. Kingfisher County District 2 also assisted with two graders and a dozer, while the
Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office provided traffic control.
No structures were reported damaged, and no injuries have been reported. Photo by AAN Jack Quirk
