The Hennessey Eagles High School and Junior High cross country runners started their 2026 season Saturday, August 22, at the Kingfisher Invitational.
Cloudy skies, a sprinkle of rain and cooler morning temperatures made for some great early-season running weather as area runners got their first races of the year under their belts.
Hennessey HS Girls

Julianne Matousek started her season with a win, taking 1st place out of 85 runners in the HS girls race with a time of 5:47.63.

49th — Asher Ward — 12:55.45
The Junior High girls also had a strong showing for Hennessey, with Quinn Ward and Kennes Briley both finishing inside the top six.
