Dana Beatty’s Birthday Bash brought Hennessey together this past Saturday, July 18, at The Gathering Place, not just to celebrate a birthday, but to honor a life that touched nearly everyone in the community. About 100 people turned out to be part of it.
Dana had been looking forward to her birthday celebration, and she would have loved seeing everyone come together the way they did. After her passing, organizers made the decision to move forward with the event as planned, both to honor her memory and to help her family with funeral expenses.
Friends and neighbors gathered meal, along with a silent and live auction, to share stories, laughter, and memories of a woman who spent her life lifting others up. Some of Dana’s own mementos went up for auction, including her OU memorabilia and Eagle gear, alongside items donated by many local businesses that stepped up to support the cause. Whether people had known Dana for decades or simply crossed paths with her at a ballgame, they came together to celebrate her life.
By the end of the night, the event had raised $11,000 to help with funeral expenses, honoring Dana’s final request to the community: take care of my momma.
Thank you to everyone who came out, gave, and showed up. Dana would be proud of the town she loved so much.
