Meet Your Firefighters
Each week, the Hennessey POST highlights members of the Hennessey Fire Department, sharing their stories, training, and commitment to serving the community.
CW Daniel
CW Daniel joined the Hennessey Fire Department with a simple goal: helping the community he calls home. Since joining in August 2024, he has quickly embraced the challenges and rewards of serving as a firefighter.
Daniel says one of his favorite aspects of the department is the strong brotherhood among firefighters and the willingness of members to teach and support one another. He has already completed Firefighter 1 and EMR training as he continues building his emergency response skills.
Outside of the department, Daniel enjoys teaching martial arts to children and helping young people develop confidence and discipline.
Sergio Gomez
Sergio Gomez joined the department to help his community while continuing to learn and develop new skills. Since becoming a firefighter, he has completed EMR, Firefighter 1, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Vehicle Extrication, and NIMS ICS 300 certifications.
Gomez says helping others and building strong bonds with fellow firefighters are among the most rewarding parts of the job. While every emergency call is different, the mission remains the same: helping people when they need it most.
He believes continuous education is one of the most important parts of being a firefighter and is committed to growing through training and experience.
