Dover students took learning outside the classroom and straight into the fire station.
Elementary students spent the day at the Dover Fire Station getting a hands-on lesson in fire safety and what it really means to be a firefighter.
From learning about fire trucks to racing to put out flames, the kids got the full firehouse experience. They learned what to do in case of a fire, and why every family needs an emergency plan. (do you have one in place?) They also experienced a dispatch “test call” hearing firsthand what firefighters hear when an emergency call comes in.
Lunch was served thanks to Community State Bank, with Steadfast Construction & Roofing owner Steve Wittrock handling the grill helping keep everyone fueled for a full day of learning and fun.
A big thank you to the Dover Fire Department and everyone who helped make the day such a success. Photos- Amy Townsend
