Felix Lara Sr, 87, was born in Coahuila, Mexico, on July 29, 1938, and passed away peacefully at his home in Lacey, Oklahoma, on March 17, 2026. He married Juanita Zuniga on October 8, 1973. They moved to Hennessey in 1978. They would have been married 53 years this year. His family meant everything to him. He was a staple in the community. Felix Sr. always had a smile on his face and was ready and willing to help anyone. He loved to visit and talk to everyone.
Felix Sr. loved to farm and ranch and did that for many years with the Cline Family. He was also a fence builder and met many people from all over Oklahoma building fence. He loved horses, roping, and riding, especially with his family. He taught all his kids to rope and ride at a young age. He was the hardest working man and made sure to teach his kids that hard work, loyalty and kindness are important traits to carry. He leaves behind many lifetime friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister. He leaves behind his Wife Juanita of the home, his five kids, Felix Lara, Jr and wife Rosi of Lacey, Lety Hernandez and husband Hector of Lacey, Ana Rangel and husband Luis of Hennessey, Roberto Lara, and wife Jennifer of Guthrie, Luis Lara and wife Amanda of Lacey. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, Vanessa Hernandez and husband Genaro, Nicholas Lara, Denise Estrada and husband Anthony, Kory Lara, Madison Lara and wife Makenzie, Luis Rangel, Hector Hernandez and fiancé Emily, Amber Lara, Shaelyn Lara and fiancé Brian, Trystan Lara, Karlyee Lara, Daren Lara, Sara Rangel, Kelton Lara, Everly Lara, Tryston and husband Justin, Brooke and fiancé Malik, Jaime Fox. He also leaves behind five great-children whom he loved dearly, Caesar Estrada, Natalie Hernandez, Lori Estrada, Brantley, and Simon and also many nieces and nephews.
The Family will host a memorial service on Saturday, March 21, 2026 @ 2pm at 1773 State HWY 81 in Hennessey (Daniel Shop). Cordry-Gritz will serve as custodian of any gifts.
