James Harvey Barlow, age 95, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. He was born on June 10, 1930, in Rudy, Arkansas.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of service at Tinker Air Force Base, where he later retired. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and deep love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Barlow; his granddaughter, Christina Orr; his sisters, Georgia Clagg and husband Harold Clagg, and Mary Sue Lofton and husband Lonnie Lofton; and Peggy Quisenberry, the mother of his children.
James is survived by his children: daughter Brenda Hixon and husband David Hixon of Hennessey, Oklahoma; daughter Sherry Barlow of Del City, Oklahoma; and son Joel Barlow of Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his grandchildren: James Hixon and wife Lydia Hixon of Jenks, Oklahoma; Amy Lane of Lantana, Texas; Lori Hixon of Hennessey, Oklahoma; Becky Gee and husband Kevan Gee of Hennessey, Oklahoma; and Samantha Smith of Del City, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind four great-grandchildren.
James will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the many lives he touched throughout his long life.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 13, 2026, at Hennessey Cemetery in Hennessey, Oklahoma, with arrangements under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
