All About Hennessey has teamed up with Hennessey Flower Shop to recognize someone special in our community, and February’s winning nominee Logan Macy!
Larissa Macy had these heartfelt words to share about her dad:I’m proud to call him my dad, but that’s not the reason I nominated him. I nominated him because he’s a true hero to so many as well. from fighting fires to coaching kids and volunteering his time.
For 19 years, he’s answered the call as a volunteer firefighter, leaving dinner half-eaten, walking out in the middle of conversations, showing up whenever someone’s worst day needed his brave heart.
He also pours his heart into football coaching 5th and 6th graders for 10 years , mentoring them to be strong teammates and good young men. He volunteers his time with the high school team and even paints the field so it’s ready for Friday night lights.
Most of all, when someone is in need, he’s always there. He’s the kind of man who doesn’t wait to be asked. If someone’s in need, he’s already on his way. Whether it’s a neighbor with a broken fence, a kid who needs extra practice, or a family facing an emergency, he shows up.
To the town, he’s a firefighter. A coach. A mentor.
To me, he’s proof that heroes don’t always wear capes.
