At approximately 1:40 a.m. Sunday, February 8, Dover Fire Department responded to a house fire at 20717 E 700 Road, (Beard Blacktop) northeast of Dover.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the brick residence fully engulfed in flames. Homeowner Simon Gracey was awakened by smoke inside the house, discovered the garage was on fire, and was able to evacuate safely. Gracey was the only person in the home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Fire crews remained on scene for several hours and returned to the station at approximately 5:20 a.m. The home was a total loss. No additional information was available at the time of this report.
