After 32 years of teaching, coaching, driving buses, running concessions, fixing problems nobody else knew existed, and quietly knowing where everything is and why, Todd Cameron, Director of IT has officially submitted his letter of, resignation not retirement.
And that distinction matters.
Because while Todd may be retiring from the classroom, nobody really believes heโs leaving the building, at least not completely.
During recent board discussion, it became clear that replacing Todd wonโt be a one-person job. It may take several people, a detailed map, and at least one phone call that starts with, โHey Todd, do you remember where that thing is?โ
Todd started his career coaching football, spent time as head basketball coach, coached just about everything else except track, drove a bus for 25 years, and somehow still found time to teach and mentor generations of students. When asked what heโll miss most, the answer came quickly, the kids.
So whatโs next?
UNOFFICIALLY, Toddโs new role appears to be District Historian, Emergency Consultant, and Keeper of Institutional Memory, available by phone, text, or a casual โHey Toddโ in the hallway. He plans to help train his replacement and make sure everything is left in good hands.
OFFICIALLY, Todd is heading to Main Street to join his wife, Sheila, at the Hennessey Tag Agency. The family-owned business began when Toddโs dad, Dale, took it over in 2002, and Toddโs wife, Sheila has been running it ever since, often without a day off. Todd said the office recently hired Jara Simunek following the retirement of longtime employee Billye Baker.
This isnโt retirement, just a title change.
