The Hennessey Farmerettes OHCE held their 2026 Installation of new officers at their January meeting hosted by Jamie Aikenhead. Installed by Kathy Patocka were Paula Nicholson-President, Pansy Wheeler as Vice President, Margie McConnell as Secretary and Marge Patocka as Treasurer and the members as supporters with a Chex Mix Service.
Paula presided over the meeting. Mary Curry was appointed as Chaplain, Pansy as Parliamentarian, and Margie as Reporter. All 12 members were present along with guests-Glenda Lindholm and Maria Perez Selas. We all told if we make New Year’s Resolutions? We had 2 letters of appreciation from the Volunteers at the Veteran’s Hospital for the items we had collected for them as well as the 65 Thank you cards we sent at Thanksgiving. The new year books were distributed and lesson leaders and hostesses were volunteered for the year ahead. We had a report on the 17 members and visitors who traveled to Enid to Napoli’s Italian Restaurant and then toured Enid to see the Christmas lights.
The 2026 projects were selected including Sponsoring local and county 4-H programs, monthly craft kits for the Hennessey Public Library, Halloween candy for the Care Center, Thanksgiving cards and collecting items for the OK Veteran’s Hospital, and Exchanging plants, seeds and bulbs. We will be sponsoring the Billie Melendy Memorial Scholarship to a Hennessey 4-H member this year. It was voted to continue with our annual scrapbook to be presented to the President. We had a request for some baked goods or items to be used as Bingo prizes at the Senior Citizens Fundraiser to be Jan. 17 and 8 members volunteered to do something. The Standards of Excellence for 2025 points were totalled and will be reported to the County Office.
The lesson on “That’s Not the Way I Would Have Done It” was presented and delicious Apple cake and ice cream was enjoyed.
Present besides the officers were Dot Miller, Maxine Helgeson, Lily Rouke, DeDee Krueger, and Cheryl McClendon.
