What began as a small trickle sneaking out of a crack in the sidewalk around 1 p.m. near the Methodist Church Parsonage, Thursday, November 13th, turned into yet another late night for the Hennessey Water Department. After plenty of exploratory digging that looked a bit like a treasure hunt with no treasure, the crew finally found the leak a full 20 feet from where the water was bubbling up.
The good news, it didn’t require a town-wide shutdown, and the crew wrapped this one up around 7:30 tonight. This marks the third evening this week these guys have put in extra-long hours to keep Hennessey’s water flowing. If you spot any of the town crew around town, give them a high five, or at least a sympathetic nod, for their hard work.

(BTW, I, Jack, have been out there with them every night and now know more about water pipes than any reporter should. Very tired…)
