In a thrilling opening-round matchup of regional play, the Hennessey Lady Eagles battled through five hard-fought sets to defeat Sperry and punch their ticket to the next round of the regional tournament.
Sperry came out strong, taking the first set and putting early pressure on the Eagles. But Hennessey regrouped quickly, making key adjustments and answering with an impressive second-set victory to even the match.
The intensity continued as Sperry edged ahead again in the third set, seizing a 2–1 lead. Refusing to back down, the Lady Eagles dug deep in the fourth set, fighting point for point before clinching the win to force a decisive fifth.
Riding that momentum, Hennessey dominated the final set, finishing strong to secure the match and advance in regional competition. It was a true display of determination, teamwork, and grit — the kind of effort that defines championship play.
