The Hennessey Varsity Lady Eagles made Senior Night one to remember with a dominant 14-2 victory over Watonga on Monday. Before the game, the team honored seniors Jaryn Dowell, Tayler Franklin, Kallie Rapp, and Joselyn Romanfor their contributions to the program.
Dowell put together a stellar performance at the plate, driving in four runs on two hits. Her biggest swing came in the second inning with a double that brought in two runs. That same inning, the Lady Eaglesโ offense erupted for 10 runs, fueled by contributions from Franklin, Rapp, Ivana Gutierrez, KJ Pendergraft, and others.
In the circle, Franklin delivered a strong outing, striking out six and giving up just two hits across three innings to secure the win. The Lady Eaglesโ bats stayed hot with 15 total hitsโDowell, Franklin, Rapp, Gutierrez, and Kenna Peach each collected two.
The team also showcased its speed on the bases, swiping 12 stolen bases in the game to keep the pressure on Watonga throughout.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Blackwell to take on the Lady Maroons.
