Larry “Pooh” Fipps was raised in Hennessey, OK, by his parents, Larry and Molly Fipps. He has seven siblings: Emanuel, Marla, Leslie, Laurie, Rhonda, Patrick, and John. Chasity (Shaw) Fipps also grew up in Hennessey, where her parents, Donnie and Patty Shaw, raised her. Both Larry and Chasity graduated from Hennessey High School in 1997.
After graduation, Pooh began working as an over-the-road truck driver for Hobby Lobby, driving teams with his father. Chasity initially worked at Sonic before attending beauty school. Larry and Chasity were high school sweethearts and married on July 16, 1999. This past July marked their 26th wedding anniversary. Throughout the years, Pooh and Chasity have supported each other through the ups and downs of life, serving as a true example of love and partnership.
Together, they welcomed one son, Brady Fipps. Brady married Allison, and they blessed Pooh and Chasity with three granddaughters: Karsyn, age 10; Aspen, age 9; and Baylor, age 4. Pooh and Chasity cherish spending their free time chasing after their grandchildren to various activities. They enjoy camping, watching college softball (especially OU), and spending quality time with family.
Additionally, Pooh loves to hunt and fish, and he occasionally visits the casino if he feels lucky. Chasity is an active member of the Hennessey Lions Club and the Hennessey Mother’s Club. Both Pooh and Chasity are also members of the Hennessey Round Up Club.
The saying goes, “Life is short; spend it with people who love you and bring you happiness.” Pooh and Chasity embody this sentiment. They are best friends who truly enjoy each other’s company; where you see one, you are sure to see the other. Both have radiant smiles and kind, beautiful hearts. Pooh has never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Chasity genuinely cares about others, and together they love the Hennessey community.
From their teenage years in love to the beautiful life they have built after 26 years of marriage, Larry and Chasity Fipps are a remarkable couple.
