On Tuesday, August 12th, Lady Eagles Softball staged a comeback to defeat the Cashion Varsity Wildcats, finishing the game with a score of 14-13.
Cashion jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first inning, thanks to Presli Galliherโs double and singles from Brooke Shafer and Jayce Bradley. However, the Lady Eagles quickly retaliated, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Jaryn Dowellโs two-RBI single.
The Wildcats evened things up at 5-5 in the second inning, but Hennessey responded with a wild pitch, regaining a 6-5 lead. Cashion retook the lead in the fourth, going ahead 7-6, and then exploded for five runs in the fifth inning on just one hit to stretch their lead to 12-7.
Despite the deficit, the resilient Lady Eagles fought back, tying the game 12-12 in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, after Cashion briefly led 13-12, Brylee Seigerโs single helped Hennessey tie the game again at 13-13.
With the game on the line, Hennessey scored the winning run, clinching a thrilling 14-13 victory. Peach led the Eagles with three hits in three at-bats, while Dowell contributed two hits and three RBIs. The team drew seven walks and stole six bases, showcasing their aggressive style on the bases.
Cashionโs Ball, Galliher, Shafer, and Bradley each had two hits, with Ball driving in three RBIs. The Wildcats demonstrated solid fielding, making no errors throughout the game.
