On Friday, August 15th, Hennessey hosted its annual “Meet the Eagles” event at the Eagle Event Center, and it was a great time! Fans, families, and friends came together to honor all of the sports teams from our school and meet their coaching staff that are committed to HHS athletics. There was a ton of excitement in the air as everyone gathered to kick-off the new sports season.
The event began with the presentations of each team. It was exciting to see each athlete representing their respective team, whether it was basketball, softball, cheerleading, track, etc. The coaches took time to cover teams’ goals and expectations for the upcoming year, encourage attendees to support their teams, and celebrate the hard-working athletes who make Hennessey proud. Cheers of excitement were evident as teams finished introducing themselves
One of the highlights of the evening was the fun senior game. The seniors participated in a team event by sliding on air mattresses down the basketball court. The gym was filled with laughter as the seniors slid down the court trying to see who could go the furthest, and it was a very fun event for everyone attending.
Overall, Meet the Eagles was an awesome way to increase school spirit and show support for our teams. With the loud cheers, bright smiles, and all the memories that were made, the event reminded everyone why we love Hennessey sports. We can’t wait to see how our teams do this season! GO EAGLES!
