14 year old Jerzie McLane, a freshman at Kingfisher Highschool, made a statement at this season’s 14U All State tournament held in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Her team finished undefeated and earned the championship title.
Jerzie showed the skills and leadership one expects, and represented her region well, but more importantly she stood out among the best players in the state. Jerzie showed heart, determination and talent throughout the course of the tournament.
Jerzie played four games in different positions: catcher, right field, and left field. Defensively, she had multiple attempts at throw downs, and made five putouts and one assist. Offensively Jerzie made two solid hits, two walks, and two scored runs.
This All State event included some of the best young talent from all over Oklahoma, which made this victory that much better. Jerzie’s championship win ends an incredible season, and is another impressive highlight in her already impressive youth sports resume. Jerzie plans on playing school ball for Kingfisher as well as travel ball this year, and she has also been invited to play in Nationals this December, so keep a lookout for her.
