Jewel Babiak, was an angel even before she got to heaven! It is with deep sadness that we announce that Jewel passed on July 21, 2025 at the age of 89. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend who was known for her kind, gentle, and giving nature. She will be forever missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Jewel lived in Hennessey with her husband Paul for over 40 years and was active in the First United Methodist Church, Friends of the Library, and Hennessey Lions Club. Even at the tender age of 89, she still mowed her yard, pulled in the neighbors’ trash cans, and would do anything for anyone that needed something done.
Jewel will now be with her husband, Paul in heaven along with her parents and many brothers and sisters who have gone before her. Jewel leaves a legacy of two siblings; Tom with wife, Dorothy, and Darlene, three children; Brian, with wife, Jan; Karen with husband Warren; and Kelly, with husband, Loc; and four grandchildren: Chantelle, Christopher, Jason, and Cai.
A celebration of life gathering honoring Jewel will be held at Hennessey First United Methodist Church on Friday, August 22nd at 4PM. Please RSVP before August 11th by contacting the church at (405) 853-2569.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Jewel Babiak may be made to the following organizations… Special Forces Chapter 32-50 Ladies Auxiliary, Hennessey First United Methodist Church, Hennessey Lions Club, Friends of the Hennessey Library (FOL), or to the charity of your choice.
