If youโve ever tried parking at the Hennessey Rodeo grounds, you know itโs been more of a wild goose chase than a well-oiled operation. Up until now, spectators were left circling the area, hoping for a miracle, or at least a patch of grass not already taken.
But last week, that all changed in a big way.
Enter Kingfisher County District 2 Commissioner Mike Sparks and his crew, who rolled in like a construction cavalry and transformed the dusty weed patch west of the rodeo grounds into a proper parking paradise. We’re talking huge. Like, “bring the whole extended family and their trucks,” huge.
Sparks said the team wasnโt cutting corners. They laid down a solid base and topped it off with hard-packed gravel, because if youโre gonna do it, you might as well do it right. The new lot is part of a land trade partnership between the county and the town of Hennessey.
