The Hennessey Choir Department, under the direction of Melissa Faulkner, brought the beloved Disney tale of Cinderella to life last week with a fun, fresh twist. The show ran for three performances at the Hennessey School Auditorium and had the crowd grinning from start to finish.
JoHanna Matousek was a natural as Cinderella, Asher Ward stepped into the royal role of the Prince, and Karlie Best added just the right touch of sparkle as the Godmother. The always-funny Hladik duo — Jenna and Jayden played stepsisters Joy and Portia, while Yaya Moreno kept things wickedly entertaining as the Stepmother. Nicholas Moery and Madilyn Pickle brought royal flair as King and Queen, with Jaret Matthews as the ever-important Herald and Mirabelle Bennett cooking things up as the Chef.
And while the cast was front and center, the magic backstage was just as impressive. Stage Manager Brooklyn Harris and Assistant Stage Manager Liam Cuevas kept the show running smoothly. The stage crew, Leille Vadder and Aidan Hardin, made sure every scene change was right on cue. Lights and sound were handled by Joshua and Drew Faulkner, Miguel Bryson, and Adam Stackhouse. Props, sets, and costumes came together thanks to Steve, Kim, and Jaden Matthews, Alma and Jo Elaine Pickle, Josh Ward, Loanna and Lisa Hladik. And makeup and hair? That’s all thanks to Dayana Bravo.
This production was a full team effort on stage and off and the result was a truly magical performance! Photos by AAH Jack Quirk.
