Last Thursday, February 20th, at about 11:20 a.m., a pumping unit slid off a flatbed truck and landed across the 2 southbound lanes of Hwy 81 at 1340 S Main St in front of Liberty Lift. According to the Hennessey Police report, the unit was loaded and strapped down, but the trailer had a sheet of ice on it, causing it to slide off and land on the road. The truck was not owned by Liberty Lift. The southbound lanes were blocked for about 30 minutes while the pumping unit was cleared from the roadway. Hennessey Police and OHP worked the scene. There was minor damage to the highway and ODOT made needed repairs.
