Private family services will be held at a later date for Mitchell Leon Broughton, 65. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Mitchell was born in Ardmore on July 4, 1959, to Lee Roy and Shirley Earlene Fryer Broughton and died Saturday February 15, 2025, at his home in Hennessey. He graduated from Hennessey High School, in 1977 and worked in the petroleum industry all his adult life. Mitchell married Carol Jan Goebel in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, April 14, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; one son, Billy Lee Broughton and wife, Jessica, of Ponca City; one step-daughter, Kari Davis, of Edmond, one step-son, David Campbell and wife, Nina, of Deer Park, Texas; seven grandchildren- Baylee and Brianna Broughton; Emma, Charli, and Asher Davis; Shepherd and Endure Campbell; his mother, Shirley Broughton, of Hennessey; and three sisters, Frankie Wheeler, of Okeene, Vicki Martin, of Enid, and Teresa Cussner, of Yale.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Broughton.
