Sgt. Christian Solis of the Hennessey Police Department is set to take over as the new police chief of the town on December 20th. He will be stepping into the role left vacant by Chief Aaron Pitts, who has been elected as the Sheriff of Kingfisher County and will start his new position in January. Hennessey Town Administrator Tiffany Tillman in announced Solis’ promotion in her monthly board report.
Christian, a graduate of Hennessey High School in 2013, began his journey with the Hennessey Police Department as a reserve officer in December 2019. He progressed to a temporary officer role in January 2020 and, by August of the same year, became a full-time officer. Additionally, since July 2022, Solis has been simultaneously serving as the resource officer for Hennessey Public Schools.
Sgt Solis gave this statement to the Hennessey Post for Hennessey residents. “I am honored and humbled to step into the role of Chief of Police on December 20, 2024. This promotion is a privilege, and I am grateful for the trust and support you have shown me.
