A large underground natural gas pipeline exploded and caught fire about a mile and a half east, and 4.5 miles south of Ames about 5:30 this morning. (Thursday, February 18, 2021) The fire could be seen for miles as it lit up the sky. This photo was taken a mile south of Loyal by Ty Gardner. The Ames and Meno fire departments responded and there were no injuries. It could be seen from Hennessey and Enid as a big orange glow in the sky. Did you see it? If so, where from?
