Itโs assessment time in Kingfisher County.
Kingfisher County Assessor Carrie Turner is reminding residents that January 1 through March 15 is the annual assessment period.
Assessment forms have been mailed and may include personal property, business property, manufactured homes, and petroleum listings. Be sure to review your form, verify the information is correct, sign it, and return it before March 15 to avoid penalties.
A few important reminders:
- Homestead Exemptionย provides a $1,000 reduction in assessed value. You must own and live in the home as of January 1. Late applications wonโt be considered until next year.
- Senior Freezeย is available for homeownersย 65 or olderย with a combined household income underย $85,000. This locks in property valuation (not all taxes). Bring your most recent federal tax return and proof of income to apply before March 15.
