The Friends of the Library have brought a new Little Free Library to town, now located at the curb on Colorado Street near Weaver Energy Corporation.
Little Free Libraries operate on a simple premise: โTake a book, leave a book.โ These small, community-based book boxes are designed to make reading materials easily accessible to everyone. Visitors can stop by, borrow a book at no cost, and return it or contribute another title later.
The new box adds to the growing global network of Little Free Libraries, a movement that began in 2009 and now includes more than 150,000 registered locations worldwide. Each one serves as a small hub for sharing stories and promoting literacy in its community.
The library box at Weaver Energy is open to the public and stocked with a variety of books for readers of all ages.
