The Hennessey Police Department is officially growing its ranks, welcoming Officer John Gay II, who graduated from the police academy on November 7th.
John’s path into law enforcement wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision. He put in the groundwork early, earning an associate degree in Criminal Justice before ever putting on the uniform. That foundation served him well when he joined the department in April and began the long stretch of training that comes with the job. Now, after months of discipline, instruction, and real effort, he’s fully certified and ready to take on the responsibilities that come with the badge.
Chief Solis put it plainly:
“I couldn’t be more proud of Officer Gay II for completing the academy. It takes hard work, discipline, and a strong sense of purpose to earn that badge. He’s shown all of that and more. I look forward to watching him grow into his role and continue serving the people of Hennessey with pride.”
John steps into this position with solid preparation, a clear commitment to the profession, and the support of his department behind him. Hennessey PD looks forward to the work ahead and the contribution he’ll bring to the community.
