Heads up, Hennessey and Kingfisher — starting November 1, it’s against the law to hold or use a handheld cell phone or electronic device while driving through active school zones or construction zones in Oklahoma.
What you CAN do:
• Use hands-free options like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto.
• Make emergency calls to first responders or medical personnel.
What you CANNOT do:
• Hold, touch, or scroll your phone, even for navigation, while driving through these zones.
• This only applies when the school or construction zone is active and posted.
Penalty:
• Fines up to $100 for violations.
Stay alert and keep our roads safe for students, workers, and families.
