Road improvement plans were another key topic during the October 14 Hennessey Board of Trustees meeting, with several coordinated projects moving forward between the town and county.
A joint effort between the Town of Hennessey and Kingfisher County District 2 will focus on grinding and double-chip sealing Conoco Road and South Mitchell Road. Town Administrator Tiffany Rowen and County Commissioner Mike Sparks outlined how the work will connect with the town’s ongoing paving initiative.
The town is currently completing Phase 1 of a 1,700-foot paving project on South Mitchell Road, extending south from 7th Street. To align efforts and avoid overlap, the county will pave up to that 1,700-foot mark. From there, crews will double-chip seal south to the intersection of South Mitchell and Conoco Road, continuing east along Conoco Road to Highway 81.
Commissioner Sparks also shared a separate proposal to pave Cemetery Road from 7th Street north to Highway 51, using the same double-chip seal method.
