The Hennessey Eagles celebrated an impressive 21-8 win against Luther, thanks to strong performances on both offense and defense. The game began with a big play from Levi Ferrell, who intercepted a pass in his first game at safety. Ferrell quickly turned that momentum into points, rushing for a 10-yard touchdown to put the Eagles ahead 7-0.
Luther responded with a rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion, bringing the score to 7-8. But Ferrell wasn’t done, alongside Mario Lopez, he led the team on a 10-play, 52-yard drive, scoring another touchdown on a 5-yard run, making it 13-8 after a missed PAT.
In the third quarter, Ferrell connected with Beau Vinson for a 12-yard touchdown pass and rushed in a two-point conversion, extending the lead to 21-8. The Hennessey defense stepped up, forcing turnovers and stopping the Lion offense with big sacks from Esteban Blanco and Luis Macias-Montoya.
Ferrell dominated the game with 155 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, and 1 passing touchdown, while Mario Lopez added 77 yards, capped with a crucial 36-yard rush to seal the victory. With the win, the Eagles extend their winning streak to 6 for the first time since the 2015 season, and secure their spot in the Playoffs!
